It is only natural that as people get older they want to continue looking young so the regular use of anti-ageing skin care products is becoming the norm. This group of products generally work by enabling the synthesis of collagen, which is the main protein of connective tissue in animals and the most abundant protein in mammals. Other compounds called phytochemicals, have proved to be beneficial in the formulation of anti-ageing skin care products. Another benefit, like that of alpha-lipoic acid, is their ability to reduce the prevalence of certain cancers like prostate, colon and breast cancer.
Some B-vitamins like B5, B6 and B12 are also in use for anti-ageing skin care products. The field of anti-ageing skin care products is vast and needs a great deal more research.
In time new discoveries will be made advancing our understanding of the ageing process and products that can reduce or reverse the effects more successfully. In time it is hoped that less expensive and more reliable anti-ageing skin care products will become available for a larger number of people to use.
We must not forget however, that there are many more natural methods we can all use to reduce the signs of ageing on a regular basis. So, drinking plenty of water, getting a good night’s sleep, exercising regularly, maintaining healthy eating habits and keeping stress at bay are essential means of delaying the ageing process.
